Gaffer - First Team
I feel the lads put in 2 good performances at the weekend with us probably playing our best football against Heanor Town but still we are looking for that illusive win.
We had several good chances in the first half against Heanor with Keast, Palfreyman, Williamson all going close and then Nick Hardy had the best chance right towards the end of the game to get us a well deserved win.
Against Barrow we struggled early on and think some of the lads were still enjoying their bank holiday but as the game progressed we grew in confidence and again had several good chances towards the end of the match with 2 goals being disallowed for off-side.
As a team I feel the performances are getting better and I think we are going to get stronger the more games we play together. I am looking forward to facing Gedling again at the weekend for the third time this season and know we will face a very difficult task against a well organised and hardworking team but now the Holidays are finishing we should have our first full squad of the season to choose from apart from Robbie Aldridge who is suspended.
I will face some difficult decisions with who will make the starting eleven but as a manager these are good decisions to be making as we have a very competitive squad and everyone is pulling in the right direction.
I would like to wish Lee Fox a speedy recovery after he dislocated his knee against Barrow on Monday.
